the remote
Growing up I’m very much used to cities. I was born in Los Angeles, USA and shortly after my family moved to London, UK. My dad is also french and his side of the family is based in Paris, FR. As a result I spent most of my youth spending time in London, Los Angeles and Paris, not seeing much else including other parts of the countries I was in.
This left a mystery and wonder of what it’s like or what it would be like to live outside of a city. Would the lack of noise scare me or free me? Would the lack of convenience bother me or would I embrace it?
When I took my first trip to the outdoors, I went to the most remote Island in the UK. It’s called the Isle of Rum with a population of roughly 25 people. 1 shop, 1 cafe and a handfull of houses.
it was then that I realised that cities where not the place I was gunna stay. I will always appreciate them but there’s a part of me that will always want to spend time in the remote.
